Doctor Recommended All Natural SOY ISOFLAVONES
Natural Alternative Aid
for Estrogen Regulation
Soy isoflavones are an excellent
source of phytoestrogens (plant estrogens) with the isoflavones, genistein, and daidzen
in highest concentrations. Soy isoflavones are thought to bind to the
body's estrogen sites to supplement estrogen when estrogen levels are
deficient or can lessen the effects of high levels of estrogen.
A promising 2005 study done with rats
"investigated whether soy isoflavone intake, with or without estrogen
treatment, can reduce postmenopausal bone loss, and whether soy isoflavones
can be an alternative for estrogen replacement therapy... These results
suggest that appropriate soy isoflavone supplementation prevents
postmenopausal bone loss without estrogen injection and may have efficacy as
an alternative to estrogen therapy."
J Med Food. 2005 Winter;8(4):439-45
Articles published in 2005 and 2006 state
that soy isoflavone concentrates alter the growth and gene expression
in human prostate cancer cells. J Nutr. 2006
Jan;136(1):75-82, Prostate, 2005 Dec 21 Hedlund,
Bokhoven, Johannes, Nordeen & Ogden.
Another recent, Dec 2005, study concluded, "The soy-based dietary supplement
utilized in the study was shown to delay progression after potentially
curative treatment in a significant fashion. More extensive studies of the
supplement may be indicated." Eur Urol. 2005 Dec;48(6):922-30.

Further studies are needed to define soy
isoflavones' cardioprotective properties, but one 2005 study stated,
"Dietary isoflavones are thought to be cardioprotective because of their
structural similarity to estrogen. The reduction of concentrations of
circulating inflammatory markers by estrogen may be one of the mechanisms by
which post menopausal women are protected against cardiovascular disease."
"Isoflavones have beneficial effects on CRP (AWW defined: C-reactive
protein concentrations), but not on the other inflammatory biomarkers of
cardiovascular disease risk in postmenopausal women...". Am J Clin Nutr. 2005
Dec:82(6):1260-8: quiz 1365-6.
(Elevation of CRP, C-reactive protein, is a marker of inflammation and of
increased risk of heart attack and cardiovascular disease.)*
