Let’s Talk Brain Chemistry. Neurotransmitters transmit messages between nerve cells. Key neurotransmitters are serotonin (associated with emotional health, sense of wellbeing and social health), norepinephrine and dopamine. Neurotransmitters are made from amino acids.
