Alternative Care for Increased Joint and Muscle Health

Benefits, Information and Uses of Inflam-Ease:
  •  INFLAM-EASE  may help provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant support for musculoskeletal and respiratory health.
  •  These herbs have traditionally been used for supporting healthy joints (muscles, tendons, ligament, cartilage).  INFLAM-EASE may help promote increased circulation and reduced inflammation and swelling.
  •  These herbs are thought to work together to help relieve pain associated with rheumatism, arthritis, osteoporosis and certain types of back pain, while increasing range of motion of joints.
  •  Turmeric Root is used to protect mucous membranes and promotes health of the respiratory system.

Boswella (Boswellia serrata) (boswella) has been used for hundreds of years. Recent studies confirm its anti-inflammatory effects. Boswellic acids promote gycosamioglycan synthesis and inhibit leukotrienes which are involved in inflammatory processes. Boswellia may  helps maintain cartilage tissue by increasing circulation in joints and may reduce arthritis pain and inflammation. It is an important herb in India and has been used traditionally  for gout, low back pain, respiratory diseases and arthritis.

Turmeric Root Extract (Curcuma longa) gives East Indian foods their characteristic yellow color from components called curcuminoids.  Curcuminoids provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory protection for mucous membranes, especially in the lungs and upper respiratory tract. Curcumin promotes inhibition of inflammatory thromboxanes and leukotrienes.

Devil's Claw Root (Harpagophytum procumbens) was introduced to Europe and North American in the last century, but has been traditionally used in its native southern Africa. Recent studies have shown that Devil's Claw may benefit rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and  certain types of back pain.  It is thought to keep tissue between joints and in muscle healthy, thus reducing pain and increasing joint mobility. Enteric coating of tablets help protect the stomach from stimulation of stomach acid and promotes the effectiveness of these standardized botanicals. One of several recent studies on Devil's Claw which involved 75 patients with osteoarthritis in hip and knee "reported continuous improvement in the following clinical finding: 45.5% for pain, 35% for limitation of mobility and 25.4% for joint crepitus. Only two cases of possible adverse reactions were reported (dyspeptic complaints and a sensation of fullness)".  PAINMEDICINE NEWS July/August 2005 Volume 3/Number 4 Phytother Res 2003:17:1165-1172
