Doctor Recommended All Natural DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone)
DHEA is
a natural steroid hormone produced in the body from cholesterol that is
recommended by physicians and alternative healthcare professionals. DHEA is
produced in the adrenal glands which sit on top the kidneys. This androgen
is a precursor of male and female hormones and all other steroid hormones in
the body. It helps regulate hormone imbalances and may help bolster male
libido. It may improve mental clarity and uplifts mood and may support the immune
system. It plays a part in combating stress. DHEA levels are highest around
25 yrs of age and then progressively decline after 40. After 70 to 80 years
of age levels may be one tenth of the level at 25 yrs of age.
Caution: We recommend that DHEA be taken
under the care of a physician. We do not recommend for children or women of
child bearing age.
Benefits, Information
and Uses for DHEA
- DHEA is a precursor of sex hormones
(testosterone, progesterone, estriol, estradiol, estrone).
|
- DHEA is understood to boost
energy, improve
mood, and both increase brain function and male libido.
|
- Declining levels of DHEA
due to age and stress are associated with thinning of bones, increasing body fat, decreasing muscle
mass, and in promoting cardiovascular disease, insomnia, memory loss, and
diabetes. DHEA has been implicated in normalizing cholesterol,
lessening bone and joint disease and pain, and lowering high blood pressure.
|
- DHEA is considered a stress
combatant hormone helping the body fight physical and emotional stress.
- *WARNING: Do not use if pregnant, nursing, planning to bear
children, using any hormonal products or a prescription drug.
Individuals suffering from any disease should consult a health care
professional before using this product. We recommend that DHEA be
taken under the care of a physician.
|
DHEA should be taken under the care of a physician. Men
40 to 50 years take DHEA to increase energy and libido. Higher doses are prescribed for men over 70 years
of age.
Generally, women under the age of 40 should
not take DHEA. DHEA levels may actually increase during peri-menopause.
Research suggests that after
menopause DHEA is tolerated at 5-25mg daily. After 70 years of age
higher doses of DHEA may prove beneficial.
