Doctor Recommended All Natural BILBERRY PLUS

BILBERRY, RED GRAPE SKIN, BIOFLAVONOIDS  are doctor recommended for vision, eye health including macular degeneration and glaucoma.

Bilberry  fruit (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a western North American medicinal plant found in high elevations of Arizona and New Mexico and sparsely farther north. The doctor recommended, Bilberry, is also called European blueberry. Plant derived flavonoids, anthocyanisides are found in pigmented fruit. Anthocyanosides have been researched for over forty years.  Studies have shown "significant improvements in dark-adaptation threshholds and significant increases in macular field of vision under mesopic light." Family Practice News, July 15, 2004, pg 21, (Therapie 19:171-75, 1964)  Reviewers of published studies concluded "that there was sufficient potential for benefit to warrant further trials of anthocyanoside extracts for patients with poor night vision and other visual difficulties... No adverse events were reported in any of the trials". Family Practice News, July 15, 2004. pg 21, (Surv. Ophthamol. 49(1):38-50, 2004)

Benefits, Information and Uses of Bilberry, Red Grape Seed:
  • Bilberry appears to benefit circulation, especially in brain and eyes. It is being studied to determine its benefits for glaucoma, macular degeneration,  and night vision problems. Family Practice News, July 15, 2004. pg 21, (Surv. Ophthamol. 49(1):38-50, 2004)
  • Bilberry, red grape seed extract and citrus bioflavonoids which are rich in nutrients that help fight free radicals are thought to have an anti-bacterial effect in the intestinal and urinary  tract. Family Practice News, July 15, 2004 ("Modern Herbal", M. Grieves, 1931) 21
  • Bilberry is thought to support connective tissue by maintaining healthy cartilage, tendons and ligaments.
  • Red grape seed skin extract and citrus bioflavonoids are thought to work synergistically with bilberry.

Extracted from the fresh bilberry fruit (Vaccinium myrtillus) and standardized to 25% anthocyanidins, bilberry fruit is thought to benefit circulation, especially in the smallest vessels which enhance cerebral vascular  and ocular circulation. Also, bilberry fruit is used in protecting collagen health. It is used to help the body maintain healthy tendons, joints and ligaments. Balch, P. and Balch, J. PRESCRIPTION FOR NUTRITIONAL HEALING,  New York, NY: Avery, 2000. bilberry

Bilberry fruit is thought to act as an anti-microbial agent inhibiting growth of bacteria and is useful against intestinal tract disorders. Bilberry fruit may be used in place of cranberry juice concentrate for urinary tract infections and is milder on the stomach.  Bilberry has been used as a mouthwash for ulcers and sores of the mouth.

Red grape skin extract (Vitis vinifera) is, also, a source of anthocyanidins.  Citrus bioflavonoids are thought to be a defense against free radical damage.
