Well For Life-Intestinal disorders cause poor absorption of minerals and vitamins. Often people avoid eating fresh foods that contain the very nutrients they need because their intestinal tract is irritated and is absorbing poorly. They need to supplement the minerals copper, manganese, magnesium and selenium, and iron.  Selenium is needed for Vitamin E function. A complex of B vitamins is important, because medications that treat intestinal disorders reduce folic acid and other B vitamins. B vitamins are important for depression, anxiety and mood disorders that accompany digestive tract disorders. Bowel disorders interfere with absorption of vitamins such as Vitamin E. Vitamin C and flavonoids are needed to bolster the immune system and repair tissue. 90 Tablets $25

FRESH IS BEST!  Fiber is Fabulous!

You are not what you eat: you are what you absorb!

How well you digest and absorb nutrients from the food you eat depends on the health of your digestive tract, your total body health, your mental health and emotions, and your immune system. Just as the skin acts as a barrier against toxins and pathogens we come in contact with, the digestive tract deals with toxins and microbes that are ingested. Take care of your liver. The liver works to eliminate toxins from the bloodstream and discard them into the digestive system (intestines) and urinary system (kidneys) where they are flushed out of the body. The lymphatic system parallels the vascular system. Lymph is the fluid between cells. The lymphatic system filters impurities and excess fluid from lymph and returns them to the blood stream for the liver, kidneys and colon to get rid of.

Anytime digestion, absorption and elimination are reduced, there is a risk of disease. Stress, physical injury and mental distress can greatly reduce digestion and absorption. There is a direct link between digestion and your brain. Emotional health and the function of the digestive tract go hand and hand. Certain medications can reduce friendly bacteria in your gut affecting absorption and multiplying toxins. Antacids are not a good answer to indigestion, because indigestion may not be due to over production of acid and can further reduce digestion in the stomach. Constipation damages the lining of the intestines and allows toxins to be reabsorbed through the weakened tissues of the gut. This is called a “leaky gut”. Fiber is crucial to the prevention of constipation which allows the tissues to be exposed to the toxins in feces for long periods of time. Soluble fiber enhances absorption of nutrients by maintaining the health of the lining of the intestines. Unhealthy digestion, a leaky gut, and poor absorption lead to disease.
